New life for our beloved auditorium!

     A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on August 22nd to celebrate the reopening of the KES auditorium. Members of the community worked diligently to raise funds for the project after a reappraisal of the building's condition in January deemed repairs "do-able." The auditorium, which was built in 1936, had been virtually unused since 2010 when a negative report from engineers ruled the building unsafe.

    This first phase of restorations included adding metal plates to many of the beams that engineers said were bowing. The auditorium was totally repainted and the original hardwood floors were refinished
